“I'd like to see all your sex swimming in a lake of blood – I think I could drink from your skull, I'd like to bathe my feet in your guts, I could eat your heart, roasted!”

Miss Julie.

Park Theatre, 2024

Sweden.
Midsummer’s Eve.
1888.

The longest night of the year. It’s hot, the sun isn’t going to set, and the flowers are in full bloom. While The Count is away, the servants dance through the night. Amidst them, his daughter, Miss Julie.

As she descends into the servants' quarters, a battle for power and dominance between her and Jean, her father’s valet, will eventually become a fight for survival.

Grippingly funny and beguilingly dangerous, Miss Julie examines sex, power, and gender in the midst of the midsummer heat.

★★★★ 'Dangerous flirtation quickly develops into a sadomasochistic game of shifting sexual power dynamics.'

— THE STAGE

★★★★ 'One of the best productions of this play I’ve seen in years.’
